Ubuntu

Seriously. I have had it with Microsoft. Too many problems. One of our boxes at home crashed big time. Of course, we have a plethora of CD’s all with Microsoft this and that on them. And so, after getting more and more frustrated, I determined this box (my kids use it for homework and research and what not) will be a Ubuntu box. Ubuntu is free. And with Google Apps and Open office available all for free, I determined I was breaking free for now as much as I can from the Microsoft ball and chain.

I have indeed decided to move to the Mac side. I can’t afford it now but I will when I can. I HATE WHAT MICROSOFT HAS BECOME and believe me when I say I was one of their most staunchest supporters.

American Idol

I picked David to win. Seriously, I think they got it right tonight. The David winner was by far more talented, seasoned, versatile, and has a better entertainment set of skills to work with. And he is probably more marketable than the David A who looks like he should be singing with the Disney crew.

Bye Bye Satellite

At the end of the month, we are ditching all pay TV options. We currently have Dish. And I couldn’t be more pleased. I think having a few air channels will be fine. And we can always www.hulu.com our favorite shows that might not be on our normal channels.

I am thinking that we might save lots of time. And I think we might read more, talk more, play more, sleep more or whatever else we would normally do by not wasting it in front of all the other dumb channels.
