Today is the first real official day of me working at home. I am a tweak nut So it will take me two weeks to get my office just right. It really does take me a while to get my “nest” ordered the way I like it.

I don’t remember who referred me to www.seesmic.com. But I am checking it out. I am going to be posting some questions that will help me with real live, interactive people. My first question posted to this crowd was what would it take to get them to come into church and keep them coming week after week. We all kind of know the answers before we ask. The Dallas Stars, the beloved Dallas Stars, lost tonight. They lost to an excellent team. But they did extract a toll from those stinking Red Wings so they might not be as sharp as they might have been had they won the series 4-0. What a great year. Wonder who will be back and who will be gone? What will next season look like? I guess I can now put away the hockey gear for a few more months.

I have noticed a bit less blog posting in general lately. I think people are twittering more and are abandoning some writing in order to Twitter. Is that good or bad?

I think it might be good if you are following someone. I think it might be bad if you aren’t. And, since Twitter limits to so many characters, the content that would normally be out there is diminishing.

Maybe we need less writing and more collaboration and interaction. I don’t know. But I have simply noticed a change.

God is definitely on the throne. He really doesn’t need my affirmation to make it so. But I am mentally, physically, spiritually attaching myself to His Lordship. Today is Monday. And often times my mood and temperament on Monday are greatly influenced by what happened in Church on Sunday.

So today, I am not thinking on the good and bad and in between of yesterday. Today, I am thinking about God. He is definitely on the throne. And He definitely invites me to participate in the work of His kingdom. And He definitely loves me. And He thinks I am pretty special.

That makes it a pretty good Monday don’t ya think?

Kind of rough day. Attendance down. Offering down. But I had BBQ for lunch so that made it a bit better. I am not sure if other churches are experiencing a dip at this time of year. Proms? Graduations? Vacations?

What I do know is that I refuse to lose heart or grow weary. In fact, I am going to fast more in the next few weeks and ask the church to join me in this journey to see what God wants to do next in our midst.

Church planting, as some have said, is a marathon, not a sprint. That’s good. Cuz I can’t run too fast without getting winded.
