I love that when Jesus was accused, He didn’t say a word.
“He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth” (Isaiah 53:7).
“For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously” (1 Peter 2:21,23).
Jesus could have revealed all their dirty laundry. He could have exposed His accusers. He could have had them back pedaling quickly. He could have turned the tables on them and talked abouot every single thing they did wrong, every sin, every awful word or deed. Yet He just sat there and did not respond, but rather, He simply endured it. His reputation was getting hammered in front of everyone, but He didn’t say a word.
