There are a lot of other sides. There is the other side of the moon that you never get to see. There is the other side of the pillow, which is the main reason I turn over mine. There is the other side of the coin, which makes one side happy and the other side not so much when flipped before a game. There is the other side of the mountain, which is preceeded by an uphill climb.
And then there is the other side of the story. I can’t say how many times I have heard people tell me something, only to discover that it did not match up with that other side. And I have been involved in a few situations where I needed to tell my side of the story to bring perspective.
The sad reality is, some people will write off a friend based on someone’s account of them, even when they haven’t heard their own friend’s side of the story. Kind of sad really. We owe it to our friends, our dear ones, to get the whole story. Passing judgment and severing friendships should not be done so callously and flippantly. Worse yet, you are going to reap what you sow. The kind of friend you are is the kind of friend you will get. And even if everything is true, will you demonstrate love and be there for your friend or will you simply demonstrate your limited commitment?
